Tokotas--RoM-Dignity-Steeplechase--CCD

Alex double checked the saddle girth, making sure that the light racing saddle strapped to Duc d’Orleans’ back was secured, pulling it taut sharply to an annoyed grunt from the curly maned Tokota. Duc, Chevalier de Lorraine and a friend’s Miralta, Cinnamon, were all competing in the steeplechase in just a few minutes, and Alex wanted to make absolutely sure that all Tokotas and riders were as safe as he could make them in the time he had left. Marcus and the twins, Jason and Christopher, were acting as the jockeys for this event, as Alex was too heavy for a timed race like this, and all three were a mixture of excited and anxious. Thankfully, Alex and Tristan had plenty of practice calming nervous people, and Tokotas, down, though Tristan was attempting to do so with Chevalier’s companion cat in his arms, as the orange tabby would definitely attempt to run the race with his buddy. Alexandre, the cat, was particularly attached to Chevalier and did not like it when the Tokota was out of

Nordanner--Shiv 4907--Training--Leading

Shiv, new to the halter that Alex had carefully buckled onto his face, snorted and attempted to back away from his new handler, throwing his head up and attempting to pull backwards. Alex, very used to yearlings and their temper tantrums, allowed the colt to back up to the end of his lead rope, before he tightened his hold and braced himself, refusing to allow Shiv to back away any further. Shiv attempted to yank away from Alex, snorting angrily as Alex continued to wait him out patiently. The yearling continued to try to yank himself away, tossing his head and stamping his hooves, even kicking out in an attempt to get Alex to himself loose. Alex, waiting Shiv out, allowed the young colt to prance himself around in a circle around Alex, waiting for Shiv to finally tire himself out. With a final huffing breath, Shiv eventually settled down, blowing mightily through his nose as he breathed, completely worn out. Alex watched him for a moment, before finally grabbing up the new slack in

Tokotas--GH--Breeding

Alex carefully guided Honokalani forwards, watching as Tristan released Grim Reaper into his paddock while Alex walked his soon-to-be paddock mate and girlfriend towards them. Grim Reaper had not noticed the Sphinx Dire, but Honokalani had certainly noticed him. Her ears were forwards and she was straining a bit at the lead rope Alex was holding, but Alex kept her under control with ease. Honokalani huffed, annoyed that Alex was styming her attempts to get closer to Grim Reaper, but Alex stayed firm, walking her slowly forwards. Tristan whistled softly, getting Grim Reaper’s attention from where he was now sniffing along the fence-line, curiously inspecting every little weed that had grown in since the last time he had been inside that particular paddock. Reaper’s head swung up and around, as he looked over at where Tristan was standing, right next to the gate, and Alex could see when he noticed Honokalani. Grim Reaper tensed, nose going up as he scented the air in an attempt to get a

Rukaan--Magni--Trickster Transformation 2022

Magni stopped, going spraddle-legged in his surprise when he accidentally tripped over a knife that had been carelessly left in the middle of the road. He looked around, golden antlers gleaming in the early light, looking for the knife’s owner, but he was currently alone on the road, and there was no evidence of any humans living or working nearby either. Magni cautiously poked at the knife with his hoof, ready to run as soon as it did anything strange as a Rukaan could never be too careful, but it just laid there, not reacting at all to his touch. Magni looked around again, but he still did not see anyone around him, and he bent down to pick up the knife, intending to simply move the blade out of the road to one side, so that no one else tripped on it like he had. As soon as the handle of the blade was in his mouth, however, Magni suddenly felt weird, and he was suddenly much, much smaller than normal. The world was much bigger, and Magni froze, looking around again, and this time

Tokotas/Shedu--Caving/Exploring--ADG/CDM

Alex turned, looking back over his shoulder to check on Tristan, who was further back in their little caving group astride Celeste, the Asian Shedu picking her way across the uneven floor carefully. Alex patted his own mount’s shoulder, Grim Reaper, the big Dire Tokota climbing carefully around a giant crystal that was jutting up from the floor and nearly reaching the ceiling. The rest of their group included Diana and Atka, another Dire and a Tokota, as well as Mercurio and Devaraja, another Asian Shedu and a Komainu Shedu; the whole group was spread out around the cave, carefully checking out the crystals that were protruding from the floor of the cavern, as well as the softly glowing bioluminescent moss that was growing from the walls and stalagmites. All of the animals were carrying packs, Shedu and Tokota alike, and if one of them found something they considered interesting, they would bring the item over to either Tristan or Alex, for the handlers to tuck their interesting find

Tokotas -- Celebration

“Tristan!” Tristan started, smudging the ink on the shipping document for S3’s newest Tokota, a chocolate roan girl he had just named Draugr, sighed and looked up, watching as the head trainer of S3 flung open the door and lead a stampede of young Tokotas (and one cat) into Tristan’s office. Alex was grinning from ear to ear, with a happy bounce in his long stride. “Guess what?” The Tokotas tumbled over one another, yipping at all the excitement, until someone stepped on the poor cat’s tail, and got swatted for their trouble. Chaos reigned for a few moments as the injured Tokota, Sköll, whined a

02-00071 Artemis - Breaking In - Trailering

Alex was murmuring quietly to the young Hanoverian mare, Artemis. She was the newest S3 acquisition, bought on a whim of Tristan’s simply because he thought she was pretty, which was not unusual. What was unusual was Alex’s agreement, and belief that Artemis, or Art, had incredible potential. So, here Alex now was, slowly introducing the newly purchased mare to the thoroughly sterilized S3 trailer, hoping to coax her onboard without having to resort to just pushing her on, either with a whip or by using other trainers as herding dogs. He had already taken the young mare around the outside of the trailer, multiple times, just allow
